Boys worked on merit badges (snow sports, fishing, and cooking).

They also signed a card congratulating our new state senator, Marcia Karrow.

Mr. Neighbor reminded the boys that horseplay and snow-throwing before and after the meetings is not allowed.  Boys are asked to come in as soon as they're dropped off.  When parents / rides pick them up, they should go directly to their cars.

Christine Freitag received her 'red fleece' award for all of the record keeping communication she does so well.  Thanks, Christine.

Klondike camping at Round Valley this weekend.  Meet at church at 6:00, don't forget 3 cans of soup (any non-cream variety's fine) for the stew.  Class 'A' required for Saturday activities.

The troop's country is Brazil.

Council prohibits snow-throwing of any kind at this event (violators of this rule will be sent home).

Flyers came out for Camp Minsi winter campout (2/20-22) and will be posted on the website.  Due 2/17 (but get apps in next week as early registration has priority for heated tents).  Boys should sign up with Mr. Seminara if they're interested in skating merit badge.  Snow tubing may be offered (additional cost).

Trexler deposit and forms are due 2/24.  Flyer's posted on the web site.

Mr. Dorf said assignments for Spaghetti dinner (3/1) will be given out next week.  Flyer's on the website.  If you can hang in any local businesses to help advertise, it will be appreciated.  This is one of the troop's biggest fundraisers and the better the turnout the more money gets raised.

Luke and Ryan are collecting donations for the new merit badge books.  All Eagle-required books will be ordered and if you contribute, you can recommend which merit badge book you'd like to be purchased.  If you plan to contribute, money's appreciated by 3/1 so they can put in the order.

Swim test (required for boys who didn't take it last month and want to go on the canoe trip in April, also good for summer camp) is tentatively Sunday afternoon, 3/15 at Deer Path YMCA, sometime around 2:00.  Mr. Jaszyn's in the process of finalizing details.

The website's being updated more frequently.  Check it out for the latest info, calendar and forms.  As Don and I are taking over responsibility for maintaining the site, your feedback and suggestions are welcome.  We're hoping to start posting 'weekly minutes' on the web site, too.

Enjoy the snow!

Mary
