May 5

Younger boys worked on advancement with the help of our older scouts, while the parents met upstairs.

Scoutmaster Chris Neighbor reviewed opportunities for adult involvement, Eric Shick talked about advancement, Suzy Molyneux reviewed Trexler.  Summer camp will be here before you know it.  New physical forms are now good only for one year (adult and youth).  If you got a three-year physical filled out last year, a copy of that is good.  Remember that when visiting the pediatrician.  Links to the forms can be found on website.

Trexler info can be found in the packets or on www.trexlercamp.org New scouts don't get much choice in Merit Badges, older scouts should start reviewing Merit Badges they're interested in and prerequisites.

New name tags and BSA membership cards were distributed.

Troop received Quality Unit and 100% Boys Life Ribbon.

Two new Eagle Scout awards and AJ received a gold palm.  Congratulations!

May 16th is a day of caring at the church.  Begins at 8:30 (munchkins for morning break and hot dogs for lunch if still there) until it's done.  Weeding and working on the exterior planting beds.  Come out and support the church who provides us with our meeting space and charter.

May 25th is the Memorial Day parade in Somerville, full Class A Uniform, around 9 am, details to follow, refreshments back at American Legion Post 12 afterwards,

Family Campout in Baltimore forms are due 5/12.  If you signed up for the Orioles game, you've still got to fill out the campout, Ft. McHenry form.

Older Boys should start thinking about new leadership positions.  Nominations for Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant SPL, and quartermasters are due by the end of May with elections in early June.  SPL needs to be First Class and have NYLT (or be signed up to attend in August).

PUCO (Patrol Unity Command Operations) weekend is June 12, 13 & 14.  A favorite of all the scouts.

Fundraiser for Treasures of the South Branch.  As if we couldn't pack anything more into that weekend, there's a

Hunter Education class, but the troop is  planning to have a Rifle/Shotgun merit badge shoot at Yards Creek in the fall which may include Hunter Education requirements.
